I can't say that I didn't see it coming
I knew it. I knew that once I started this blog thing, I'd be hard-pressed to keep it current and well updated. And it's not that I don't want to, it's that I'm an over zealous editor. I think of things to write about, then I think to myself, "Why bother? honestly, John, no one cares that your truck was slow to start this morning." And so, I scrounge around for something marginally interesting or entertaining to write about.
Inevitably, having nothing terribly new and exciting to write about, save my truck's reluctance to start this morning, I skip entries. I know I ought not skip entries, but alas, I do. And I believe I hinted towards something similar to this in my very first entry.
So, here goes. This is the first entry of what will amount to at least six in the future.
And what's more is that people told me so. They asked me if I'd actually keep a blog, and I just told them that I probably wouldn't. I don't know if I said that because I didn't want to argue, or if I said it because they're right. Either way, I didn't resist.
But if Jerry Seinfeld can write one of the most successful television shows ever and have it be about nothing, then I surely can get away with this entry. And lo, it's not about nothing, it's about not having anything of interest, which oddly, could be interesting. Funny how that works.
To recap a few of the side stories in this entry:
- This is the tenth entry and not the sixth. In that regard, I think I'm winning.
- My truck was probably cold, I ran it for all of 8 seconds on Saturday to pull it forward, I'm sure it's fine. Though a new fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea

Trials and tribulations
Ya know, the lives of others, even the mundane details have worth to someone. Even if it is just to get it off your chest and onto "paper" - getting it out helps.
That being said - reading about someone else's truck not starting makes me feel better about mine being dependable. Not to make fun of you, just to remind the rest of us not to take certain things for granted. The fact that the truck starts every morning is a wonderful thing...
And really that goes for a lot of things - they can serve as unsolicited advice, warnings or just plain fun to anyone (or just to the 4 of us that read this).
At the very least it is a great excercise in development - post on the trials and tribulations of building a blog - it is all worthwhile and also serves as a way to document technical hurdles or to get advice when needed.
I also built in a blogroll on mine so that I don't flood my bookmarks with all the little things I find while surfing.
Keep it, work on it, post when you damn well please.
Just get some RSS on here so we don't have to keep coming back to find out if you got off your ass or not ;)
Good advice
Thanks, That's good advice. It is a little therapeutic to post what I might consider mundane.
And I'll strike a deal with you, I'll add rss to this blog if you add cookies to yours so I don't have to retype my info when I comment. :)
Oh,
OK.
