Rolled a seven
I'm a big fan of slang and euphemisms. Especially ones that involve death. I'm sure there's a deep psychological reason for this, but I'm not going to fret over it. I've always enjoyed calling bullet wounds "lead poisoning." That sort of thing.
Last night, while my mother-in-law and wife were discussing the word "passed" and deeming it inadequate and too vague on its own as a term for death, my mother-in-law threw out a wonderful one that struck my fancy: She rolled a seven
! I'm not sure why that struck me the way it did, but I think it's a hilarious euphemism for died.
