The musical baton has been passed to me.
Shawn Parker passed me the musical baton. I'm jumping backwards while waving my hands high in the air because I don't want it! It's like a chain letter without the threat at the end. Will something horrible happen to my family in a few days? Well, it didn't say that it would. So I guess it's "respectful" chain mail in that it doesn't use superstition or fear of karma to coerce participation.
Shawn called me a weenie. I think it was weenie. Whatever it was, it meant weenie. So, in the interest of keeping things kind of fun, I'll semi-participate.
I like Guster a whole lot. They kick ass. In particular, Lost and Gone Forever. It's an amazing album. I like Ben Folds Five a whole lot more than Ben Folds.
Dada was off to a great start with their first album, but they seem to be on the decline. I still listen to them a lot though.
Stroke 9 is a dark horse. I don't think they get enough credit.
Tammany Hall has put out some great stuff too.
And even though this is going to sound cheesy, Scrubs more often than not has some fantastic music. Seriously. This guy's fan site is pretty thorough, and he lists the music from the episodes. It's hard to find songs that suck on this list.
Seriously though, There are countless other musicians that I haven't mentioned. Béla Fleck is a genius. Tool seldom disappoints, Chris Cornell is extremely talented when he's with a band (sorry but his solo stuff just doesn't do it), Tower of Power is fantastic, and it wouldn't be a music post without mention of James Brown. Iron Horse nailed this album. It's worth every penny. And if you're quirky, be sure to get The Booty Tape, because life isn't complete until you've heard it several dozen times and then come to really appreciate Damn, The Booty Don't Stop Girl.
I've got 2 GB of music on my laptop, another 5.5 on network storage, and a tall stack of CDs that aren't ripped.
I'm not passing this on to anyone because I feel I've already compromised my principles enough for one day. Happy, Shawn? :P

Not happy. Nope. Though you did give a lot of links...
Truly
a weenie
